Your observations of the behavior of "latino/hispanic" people was interesting. Up until about five years ago I also noticed the phenomenon of them playing the "house nigga" role. However, simce that time I have noticed a shift here in southern California. Increasingly, I have seen them "Powellizing" (that is,Adam Clayton Powell; a "militant" light skined "black" man" from the first half of the last century.) The thirty and under set of latinos do not seem to differntiate much socially, politically, artistically, etc. They seem to have gotten the point that there aren't no grades of "nigga." I've overheard many say that they are "pretty much" black. I don't know what to attribute this to. I DO know that I live in a locale that is 80% latino. And I gotta say, I relax when I get off the freeway from work and into my "hood." There is definitely a kinship nigga vibe. No one seems to take any special notice of me... Just my observations.
