I hope everyone here is paying close attention to what Horace is saying.
His purpose here is to convince me that his world veiw is correct.
My purpose here is to replace the current system of racism with a better system [justice].
Notice how vague Horace's goal is?
After he convinces us, then what?
Its all talk...
Take a look at his suggestion for solving the problem of racism "CONVINCE EVERYONE THAT PEOPLE ARE MORE ALIKE THAN DIFFERENT."
People are different. His way is nothing more than the old "I don't see color" routine that White people talk about all the time.
Horace is smart enough to pick a way that won't have any effect, just incase he has to do it.
His suggestion is weak and ineffective and it won't work because its not supposed to work. This is the game that White people play.
Notice that he didn't even mention the word racism in his suggestion for solving the problem?
Notice his "ego" in his purpose for being here?
(to convince people that his veiw is correct)
For further analysis, lets go back to prison:
Horace wants to convince all the guards and inmates that guards and inmates are more alike than different.
Josh wants to destroy the prison.
Horace can achive his goal without destroying the prison.
What he is saying is a lot of blue smoke and mirrors. I see White people do this all the time.
They say some words that sound good, but if you think about it you realize they didn't really say anything at all.
Go back and read his post. This is a good exercise that demonstrates how White people use words to get around the truth.
Remember, due to the nature of our communication, he gets to sit around all day and think of a way to say something that sounds effective but really isn't
When you talk to a White person in "real time" its harder for a White person to do what Horace is doing. Every once in a while you get a real smart White person who can talk and be logically consistant in avoiding the truth at the same time.
This is one of the best ways to practice counter racist code because it forces you to keep it tight and pure, and if you do it correctly, its only a matter of time before they are contradicting themselves.
The great thing about using code is that your strategy is simple, be truthful.
The racist have a more complex strategy which is falsehood.
Your goal is to uncover truth, their goal is to hide the truth.
They would be equivalent but the racist has to avoid the truth and at the same time, not look like he's doing it.
This is why when you talk to White people they sometimes claim your question is "stupid."
Or they call you a "name."
When they do this, it means they are on the "ropes", desparate...
Its hard work being a racist, its even harder when they have to deal with counter racists. When you talk to them you gotta play offense, you gotta be on the attack, a "stalemate" is to their advantage.
Also, it helps to have other White people around listening to them talk because it tends to keep them from making rediculous statements.
If they do make one, you can just look over at the other White people. Nine times out of ten, the other White people won't let what they said go by because it makes them look foolish too.
If you get knocked out, dust your self off and get back in there.
And remember, this is the United Independent Compensatory system, we are united in our goal but independent in our means.
Don't wait for orders from headquarters,
ride to the sound of the guns...
