The purpose of this, and indeed any argument into which I enter, is to convince the other party that my world view is correct.

To answer your second question: the answer to racism is to create an environment in which people understand that all human beings are more alike than they are different.

It is the eroneous belief that, because a person looks different, they are different, which leads to people feeling that it is therefore OK to treat those people differently. If they realised that the "strange" looking person they are faced with feels all the same emotions, desires, wants and needs that they do, they would be less likely to objectify them and would be, therefore, less likely to maltreat them.

The question is, how do you teach people that lesson?
