V God, you asked me if I ever had a White person tell me what it means to be White.
Yes, I have been told by certain White people what it means to be White. But I am not sure if they were being truthful because they contradicted themselves in their answers.
Most of them talk of appearence, they describe a physical characteristic such as skin, hair, morphology...but they don't say what it means when a person has these attributes, which is what I want to know.
It is a very probing question and I must say that I have never gotten a straight answer from them. I do get a sense that they are resisting answering the question. It is a very simple question but most of them seem to think it is some sort of "bomb" and they do not want to touch it.
Lets do a thought experiment.
I will ask the question: "What does it mean to be a "neat" person?"
If I want to get around that question I would say:
"A neat person hangs up their clothes and wears soxs that match..."
As you can see, I have described what a neat person does but not really what it means to a neat person to be neat.
In terms of code, if you are lucky, a White person will describe [action]. But what I want to understand is the thought that is behind the action, and this is what I have found they ain't givin up.
This is why I describe it as a type of "carnal knowledge" that only people who are White understand.
My personal opinion is that it has something to do with being a racist. When I go into chat room and begin telling people that they are not White, they automatically assume that I am White.
The White people in the room assume that if I am a racist, I must be White.
It is a very interesting phenomenon and I suggest you try it if you already haven't.
The most sophisticated White people will try to get you caught up in a "feedback loop" were they answer the question with a statement that leads you back to something they already said.
Let me see if I can do this,
EXAMPLE:
Black person: Why do White people practice racism?
White person: Because they hate Black people.
Black person: Why do White people hate Black people?
White person: because we practice racism.
They now have you in the "spin cycle", the only way out is to keep choppin with code. V GOD, do you see what they are doing?
If you look on page 334 of the code book you will see where Morpheus deals with this very issue. The 3rd paragraph down, the 1964 quote. It seems confusing at first, but if you read it slowly and think about it, it appears to be a very logical answer.
Let me know what you think.
