I used to get in arguments with Black people when ever I talked about racism with them. A fight would break out when ever I tried to convince them that white supremacy existed and that it was a problem. I have since come up with a partial solution to this phenomenon and it goes like this: Rather than try to convince a person that it is raining, I simply ask them about the rain coat they are wearing and the umbrella they are carrying. By focusing on their behavior and not the rain itself, a big fight does not errupt over the existance of a thing called rain. Now you will still get some people saying, "rain gear is sexy" or "umbrellas are a status symbol"... but for the most part your point will be taken, even if there is no response to it. What I am trying to say is that most victims of racism know or suspect they are being mistreated by racist suspects(white people), just wait until they are ready to talk, be patient. As a counter racist "paramedic", there are plenty of victims to help.
